This months games day we will be playing 2,000 points and using the ITC missions and rules.

We plan on testing out the ITC rules so we can run a friendly tournament and everyone is a bit more comfortable with how it works.

That would be horrible to roll all them dice  Also assuming rapid fire range you would need 864 conscripts to take out a landraider 

Personally I think Infantry would work better if you were to build a list like this as you'd only need 576 of them It's worth the 1 extra point cost for the +1 BS.
But you're missing orders like first rank, fire!, second rank, fire! which a list like this would need, some company commanders would help there.

Fluff wise, it would be a massacre, would work better against weaker armies like eldar or nids.
